Topps, the iconic trading card company, has joined forces with the NCAA for the first-ever March Madness Basketball Card Series. This exclusive collection boasts packs of eight cards, each priced at $139.99. The highlight of these packs is a guaranteed autograph card from a stellar lineup of players. Notably, the series includes the men’s Player of the Year, Zach Edey from Purdue, and the women’s Player of the Year, Caitlin Clark.
Within each pack, collectors will find the coveted autographed card, complemented by six base cards, and one parallel card numbered to 99 or fewer. These sought-after packs are available for purchase exclusively through Topps’ official website until Thursday, with the added excitement of dual autograph cards randomly inserted into one out of every ten packs.
The carefully curated roster of athletes featured in the Bowman U NOW March Madness series includes some of the most prominent figures in college basketball. The lineup comprises a select group of 20 players who have given their consent to be part of this exclusive collection.
On the men’s side, fans can anticipate cards showcasing talents like Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham from Kentucky, Tristen Newton and Stephon Castle from UConn, Cody Williams from Colorado, Dalton Knecht from Tennessee, and more. Meanwhile, the women’s lineup features stars such as Caitlin Clark from Iowa, Cameron Brink from Stanford, Aaliyah Edwards from UConn, and others from powerhouse programs like LSU, Virginia Tech, and Notre Dame.
Noteworthy dual autographs in the series add an extra layer of excitement for collectors, with combinations like Clark/Edey, Clark/Reese, Reese/Van Lith, and Sheppard/Dillingham adding to the exclusivity of the collection.
While fans eagerly collect these limited edition cards, it’s essential to note that Caitlin Clark’s presence in the Topps series will conclude on April 1. This discontinuation is a result of her upcoming exclusive trading card partnership with Panini America, adding a sense of urgency for collectors who desire her autographed cards.
By collaborating with the NCAA, Topps successfully integrates the iconic March Madness branding into their products. The partnership not only elevates the collector experience but also hints at potential future joint ventures between the two entities, promising more exciting projects on the horizon.
Throughout the season, Topps has released over 120 Bowman U cards via their NOW platform, featuring a wide array of college basketball talents. Notably, Caitlin Clark has been prominently featured on 13 different cards, solidifying her status as a standout athlete in the collection.
