Memory Lane’s Exclusive Auction Showcases Premier Vintage Card Collection

Memory Lane’s prestigious Premier Auction is currently underway, captivating sports card enthusiasts with its meticulously curated collection of 120 vintage cards. With a limited yet impressive selection, this auction has gained recognition for its high-grade offerings and historically significant cards that are highly sought after by collectors.

One of the crown jewels of the auction is the iconic 1909 T204 Ramly Walter Johnson rookie card. This rare gem is one of only two in NM/MT condition, graded PSA 8. It comes as no surprise that this card quickly garnered a six-figure bid, given its historical significance and exceptional condition. Equally captivating is the T206 Ty Cobb Portrait (Green) card, with only three copies graded PSA 7 in existence. Also featured is a highly rated PSA 6 Cobb ‘Bat Off Shoulder’ Old Mill back, adding to the allure of this auction.

The pre-war era is well-represented in this collection, with standout pieces like the PSA 7 graded T206 Cy Young card and the highest-graded PSA 9 T206 Nap Lajoie (Throwing) card. However, it is the 1952 Bowman Mickey Mantle card in PSA 9 grade that steals the show. With only 13 known to be graded at this level, and two even higher, this card is a true treasure for collectors.

The auction continues to showcase Mickey Mantle’s legacy with six additional cards from the 1950s, each graded either 8 or 9 on the PSA scale. This includes prized versions from the 1953 Topps and Bowman series, further solidifying Mantle’s iconic status.

Roberto Clemente’s cards from 1956 to 1973 are prominently featured in this auction, with numerous Mint 9 graded cards. His cards dominate the collection, outnumbering those of other players. Willie Mays also holds a prominent position, with exceptional pieces such as a rare 1962 Topps card graded PSA 9, and a 1970 Topps card, one of only two graded PSA 10.

For fans of football, the auction offers high-grade rookie cards of Frank Gifford, Johnny Unitas, and Joe Namath. Basketball collectors, on the other hand, can find rookie cards of basketball legends like Bill Russell (PSA 7), Wilt Chamberlain (PSA 8), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (PSA 8), Larry Bird/Magic Johnson (PSA 9), and a Michael Jordan rookie card graded PSA 8.

Memory Lane’s Premier Auction presents a unique opportunity for collectors to acquire a piece of sports history. With the auction culminating on February 4th, collectors are encouraged to visit Memory Lane’s website for more details on how they can participate in this prestigious event. Whether you are a passionate sports card enthusiast or a collector looking to add a rare gem to your collection, this auction is not one to be missed.
